Job summary

MPI seeks a Senior Superintendent to lead ground-up commercial projects across Northern Virginia. You will head on-site operations for $20M+ builds, coordinating subcontractors, owners, and design teams while driving safety and schedule adherence.

Candidates will review drawings, enforce quality and safety standards, and report progress. OSHA 30-Hour certification and a track record in education/government sectors are preferred.

Responsibilities

Description

The Senior Superintendent | Ground-Up Commercial Projects | NoVA will:

• Lead all on-site operations for ground-up commercial construction projects throughout Northern Virginia and surrounding markets.
• Direct day-to-day field activities, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within quality standards, and compliant with safety regulations.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, architects, owners, and internal project teams.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Perform constructability reviews and proactively identify potential project challenges.
• Oversee site logistics, material procurement and delivery schedules.
• Maintain detailed daily reports, project documentation, and progress tracking.
• Drive quality control initiatives to ensure work meets project requirements and client expectations.
• Promote and enforce jobsite safety programs and OSHA compliance.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle to achieve successful project outcomes.

Profile

The Senior Superintendent | Ground-Up Commercial Projects | NoVA will have:

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a commercial general contractor.
• Proven success leading ground-up construction projects valued at $20M+.
• Ability to independently manage large-scale projects up to $40M.
• Experience within K-12, municipal, government, community, or similar commercial sectors.
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification required.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, scheduling, safety, and field operations.
• Experience working directly with owners, architects, and project stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, and construction management technology.
• Ability to travel throughout Northern Virginia and nearby project locations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
