Prevail Recruiting is assisting a Northern Virginia contractor in hiring a Commercial Construction Superintendent to own field operations and coordinate multi-discipline teams from sitework to turnover.

The role requires 5+ years in commercial construction, strong leadership of ground-up projects, and proven ability to read plans and manage schedules. Competitive base salary with bonus, vehicle allowance and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience.
• Strong ground-up commercial construction experience.
• Ability to independently lead a project in the field.
• Knowledge of means/methods, sequencing and subcontractor management.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and scopes of work.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project or similar construction technology.
• OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR preferred.
• PEMB experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects.
• Lead projects through sitework, foundations, structure, envelope, MEP, interiors and final turnover.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers and field personnel.
• Drive project schedules, sequencing and short-term lookaheads.
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality and jobsite organization.
• Coordinate inspections, materials, manpower and equipment.
• Maintain daily reports, RFIs, as-builts and other field documentation.
• Work closely with Project Managers, clients, architects, engineers and ownership.
• Identify field issues early and keep projects moving toward successful completion.

Northern Virginia/DC | Full-Time | $95,000–$140,000+ DOE + Bonus

An established commercial general contractor with more than a century of history is looking to add experienced Commercial Construction Superintendents to its team in Northern Virginia.

This is an opportunity for a strong field leader who knows how to take ownership of a project, lead subcontractors, protect the schedule, and drive a commercial build from the ground up through turnover.

The company has a strong pipeline throughout Northern Virginia and works across a variety of commercial markets, including industrial, healthcare, retail, recreational, institutional, office and other ground-up construction.

What You'll Do

• Take full ownership of day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial construction Superintendent experience
• Strong ground-up commercial construction experience is required
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead a project in the field
• Strong knowledge of construction means/methods, sequencing and subcontractor management
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and scopes of work
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project and/or similar construction technology preferred
• OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR preferred
• Pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) experience is a plus
