Job summary

Green Key Resources seeks a Senior Superintendent to lead a large, technically complex campus project in Austin. You will own the entire field operation from site prep through turnover, coordinating civil, MEP, and architectural scopes.

The role requires 10+ years of commercial GC experience, a hands-on leadership style, and a proven ability to manage safety, schedule, cost, and quality on an active campus with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial construction experience with a general contractor.
• Proven success as a Superintendent, Lead Superintendent, or Senior Superintendent.
• Experience leading large and technically complicated projects from the field.
• Strong working knowledge of heavy MEP systems, including chillers, generators, switchgear, controls, and emergency power.
• Direct experience managing exterior civil, underground utilities, drainage, paving, equipment yards, and site logistics.
• Experience with advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, mission-critical, data-center, healthcare, laboratory, R&D, or technical-campus construction.
• Demonstrated involvement in equipment startup, commissioning, systems testing, and owner turnover.
• Ability to build and manage schedules, lead trade partners, and coordinate multiple concurrent scopes.
• Experience working in active or occupied environments where shutdown planning and operational continuity are critical.
• Strong communication skills with sophisticated owners, engineers, architects, and facilities teams.
• A hands-on leadership style and the ability to operate effectively without excessive layers of management.

Responsibilities

• Lead all field operations for a large, technically complex campus project.
• Manage the project from site preparation and underground utilities through commissioning and turnover.
• Coordinate extensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, structural, architectural, and life-safety scopes.
• Oversee chillers, generators, switchgear, building controls, hydronic systems, equipment yards, and supporting infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain the master construction schedule and detailed short-term plans.
• Plan shutdowns, utility tie-ins, energization, equipment startup, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain safe and uninterrupted operations within an active corporate campus.
• Lead subcontractor meetings, field coordination meetings, and project-planning sessions.
• Partner with the Project Manager on constructability, procurement, cost control, changes, and risk management.
• Communicate directly with the owner, architects, engineers, facilities personnel, and other project stakeholders.
• Lead Assistant Superintendents and area leaders while holding subcontractors accountable for safety, quality, schedule, and performance.
• Anticipate field issues, develop practical solutions, and make timely decisions that keep the project moving.
• Drive inspections, punch-list completion, documentation, training, and final owner turnover.

Senior Superintendent – Advanced Technology Campus

Location: Austin, Texas

A highly respected commercial general contractor is expanding its Austin operation and looking for an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead a major project on one of Central Texas’ most prominent technology campuses.

This is not a narrow interiors or finishes role. We need a complete builder who can take ownership of the entire field operation, including exterior civil, underground utilities, heavy MEP systems, chillers, generators, electrical infrastructure, architectural scopes, commissioning, and final turnover. The ideal candidate understands how every part of a technically demanding project fits together and can lead it from early planning through completion.

The company operates with lean, empowered project teams and gives its Superintendents considerable autonomy. You will work closely with local executive leadership, manage a talented field team, and serve as a primary point of contact for the client, design team, subcontractors, and campus stakeholders.
