Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Substation Test Technician to perform testing and maintenance in utility substations. You will handle MV/HV equipment, breakers, transformers, and protection schemes, coordinating with team members to ensure safety and quality.

The role requires 3+ years in substations, familiarity with Omicron and Doble software is a plus, and a valid driver’s license. Strong English communication and field leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have substations/power-related background or hands-on electrical experience.
• ABET-accredited degree or 2-year technical school plus related experience.
• Minimum 3 years in substations, power plants, protection and control schemes.
• Familiarity with Omicron and Doble software preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, business acumen and team leadership.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Valid driver's license and clean record.
• Able to communicate effectively in English due to safety materials and client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance and maintenance testing in substations from 15–500kV while following safety measures.
• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot MV/HV circuit breakers up to 500kV and related equipment.
• Test transformers, including TTR, power factor, and winding resistance.
• Test current transformers, CCVTs, grounding systems and station batteries.
• Read meters and test equipment accurately; document results.
