Job summary

Qualus Corporation is seeking a Senior Substation Test Technician to perform testing and maintenance on medium and high voltage equipment in utility substation environments. You will inspect, test, and troubleshoot breakers, transformers, and switchgear up to 500kV, read schematics, and document results accurately.

The role requires strong communication, safety awareness, and contributions to team success, with opportunities to mentor others and improve processes.

Qualifications

• 2+3 years related experience in substations, power plants and protection schemes.
• Protective relay experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and safety awareness in field environments.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring drawings, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance and maintenance testing in substations up to 500kV with safety first.
• Test breakers, transformers, and switchgear; run megger, power factor, and related tests.
• Document results clearly using Power DB and internal reporting tools.
• Mentor teammates and ensure timely completion of tasks.
