Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a SCADA Engineer I or II in Charlotte, NC, to design, program, and support Station Data Managers, SCADA devices, and HMI systems. The role involves working across Transmission and Distribution substations and collaborating with several engineering and operations teams.

The position offers a hybrid in-office schedule and requires formal engineering education with ABET accreditation; a Master’s degree can substitute for the BS, with minimal to no required experience for

Qualifications

ABET-accredited B.S. in Engineering; Master’s may substitute.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Willingness to travel 5–15% and work hybrid in Charlotte.

Responsibilities

Support SCADA hardware platforms and develop configuration files for Transmission, Distribution, Customer, and Generation Interconnection stations.
Ensure SCADA standards, documentation, processes, internal requirements, and applicable industry compliance requirements.
Enter compliance and non-compliance data into appropriate databases and perform related queries as needed.
Develop positive working relationships to coordinate work activities; maintain accurate project records and files.
Support company goals and represent the company positively and professionally.
