Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Substation Structural Engineer, remote in the United States (CA preferred). The role focuses on design reviews of substation civil/structural components, seismic design considerations, and client liaison, with responsibilities for senior project leadership and staff mentorship.

Ideal candidates have a CA PE license and extensive experience in steel/concrete structures, foundations, and related standards, plus strong project management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 5+ years.
• California PE license required; SE license preferred.
• Experience performing/reviewing substation structure and foundation design under seismic loading; familiarity with industry codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for bid/construction packages.
• Develop junior staff and mentor project team.
• Manage multiple clients concurrently while meeting scope, schedule and budget.
