Job summary

UtilliCo is seeking a Licensed Senior Structural Substation Engineer to lead design activities for electric substations across multiple locations, including remote work. Ideal candidates bring 6+ years of industry experience, PE licensure, and strong CAD/MATHCAD skills, along with proficiency in BIM/CAD tools and writing technical reports.

Qualifications

• PE license required.
• 6+ years of relevant post-education experience in substation/utility infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Experience in steel/concrete design, foundations, and equipment supports.
• Familiar with AutoCAD and MicroStation; Revit preferred.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation structural drafting/design activities under supervision.
• Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, quantities, and revisions.
• Coordinate with structural, electrical, and civil disciplines.
• Ensure plans comply with city, state, and federal regulations and standards.
• Develop multi-phase substation design packages and BOMs.
• Support client meetings and site visits; travel as needed.
