CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer to lead technical teams in our Power and Energy practice. You will head design, protection, and SCADA activities, mentoring staff and ensuring project delivery to clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 15 years of related experience preferred.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency depends on duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, delivery, and technical execution of high-voltage substation protection and control projects.
• Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, and communications.
• Develop and approve protection/controls deliverables: schematics, wiring diagrams, relay settings, layouts.
• Lead power system studies, protection coordination, and equipment selection.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, standards, and CDM Smith procedures.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for delivery, commissioning, testing, and startup.
• Drive quality and standards through reviews and continuous improvement.
