We are seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer to join our team. As a Protection & Control Engineer, you will have the opportunity to design substation protection and control projects for electric utilities at voltages from 12kV up to 500kV. This dynamic field in the power systems industry allows exposure to power generation sources, including renewable energy, and how they integrate into the electric system. Candidates should have knowledge of digital logic design, AC and DC circuits for designing electrical projects.

The Responsibilities:

• Relay one-line design
• Three-line AC schematic design
• DC protection schematic design
• Panel layout and wiring design
• Developing Bill of Materials based on design criteria
• Quality control on wiring designs
• Supporting project lifecycle from scoping to implementation
• Construction support
• Applying National Electrical Safety Code standards
• Working with client standards and creating drawings with designers/drafters

Candidates must adhere to quality control and safety practices, maintaining scope, schedule, and budget. The role involves working within a team of engineers, designers, and CAD technicians to implement designs according to client standards.

What Sets You Apart:

• Senior Level: Bachelor's in electrical engineering or related with 4+ years of substation protection/control design or testing/commissioning experience.
• Lead Level: Bachelor's in electrical engineering or related with 8+ years of experience.
• Experience in executing substation projects
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to read and design various substation drawings
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Team player and leader
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision

Additional Qualifications:

• US Citizenship with ability to pass DOE background checks
• Engineer Intern (“EIT”) or Professional Engineer (“PE”) certification
