Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer near Fort Wayne, Indiana to lead complex substation projects from design through commissioning. The role requires a PE licensure or progression toward it, ABET-accredited engineering degree, and 6–10 years of substation experience. Occasional travel up to 15% in the continental U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer licensure or able to obtain in the next year.
• 6 - 10 years of substation engineering experience, preferably at an engineering consulting firm.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% within the continental U.S.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex substation projects, collaborating with internal multidiscipline teams, from full scope estimating and proposals to detailed design and construction support.
• Review and produce physical design drawings, including General Arrangement, Elevations and equipment connection details, Grounding Plan and Details, Conduit Plan and Details, and Foundation Plan and Details.
• Perform studies and calculations for substation design including grounding, lightning protection, battery sizing, conduit fill, and AC/DC substation studies.
• Proficient with substation protection and control design and industry standards.
• Review and produce design drawings including one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel elevations.
• Collaborate with civil/structural, protection and controls, and automation teams.
