Base pay range

$140,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr

b19 Consulting is working with an established power delivery company to find a Senior Substation Physical Engineer working coming from an electrical utility background.

This position will be working on greenfield & brownfield projects, for a variety of utility, solar & BESS projects.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years utility substation design experience (15kV through to 500kV)
• Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on high voltage and power distribution systems.
• Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship.
• Strong communication skills to co-ordinate with project engineers, designers and client representatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Proficiency with AutoCAD (2016 or newer) software
• Proficiency with MicroStation (V8 or newer).
• Proficiency with CDEGS & grounding calculations.
• Experience leading & mentoring junior engineers
• Detailed design of new substation layouts using electrical schematics, bill of materials and equipment specifications.
• Experience preparing substation design calculations such as bus sizing, power loading, DC loading, lighting and cable sizing.
• Understanding of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Ability to lead a large portion or the entirety of a substation design project
