Substation Engineering - Supervisor (REMOTE)
Base pay range: $160,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a team of engineers and designers in the planning and execution of substation projects (new builds, upgrades, expansions).
Oversee the preparation of engineering designs, specifications, and cost estimates for high‑voltage substations (typically 69kV to 500kV).
Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes (e.g., IEEE, NESC), and regulatory requirements.
Review and approve engineering deliverables including one‑line diagrams, protection and control schematics, grounding, and layout drawings.
Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, utilities, and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost‑effective project delivery.
Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for engineering tasks.
Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments to ensure system reliability and safety.
Support procurement activities by providing technical input on equipment specifications and vendor selection.
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in substation design and automation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
Minimum 12 years of experience in substation engineering, including leadership roles.
