Base Pay Range

$140,000.00/yr - $230,000.00/yr

Project Engineer – Electrical Substation Design

Locations: Tualatin, OR | Walnut Creek, CA | Denver, CO | Overland Park, KS | Ann Arbor, MI | Hybrid

Responsibilities

• Lead and support substation projects up to 765 kV, including both physical and protection & controls design.
• Develop drawings, schematics, layouts, relay panel wiring, grounding, and auxiliary power systems.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of design packages, mentor junior engineers, and oversee project deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and project teams to ensure technical excellence.
• Prepare budgets, schedules, and specifications for procurement and construction.
• Support business development opportunities and present proposals/designs to clients.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in HV substation design (physical and/or protection & controls).
• Project lead or technical specialist background.
• Strong QA/QC and client coordination experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office.
