Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Experienced Substation P&C Engineer for our Duluth, GA office. You will join the Power & Energy Substation Team, delivering protection and control design for high- and medium‑voltage substations.

The role includes data analysis, review of drawings and calculations, and collaboration with multi‑disciplinary teams to ensure project success and safety while complying with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of post-education experience in substation P&C design.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience delivering P&C design deliverables (diagrams, panel docs).
• Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and utility requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficient with engineering software and office tools.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or MicroStation; ETAP or similar is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide design support for substation protection and control (P&C) projects.
• Review internal and third‑party substation drawings and vendor submittals.
• Develop single‑line and three‑line diagrams and panel documentation.
• Prepare calculations, reports, and technical exhibits for designs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet project requirements.
• Assist with concept development and detailed design activities.
• Support senior staff with equipment sizing, AC/DC analyses, and layouts.
• Ensure adherence to applicable industry codes and standards.
• Contribute to QA/QC procedures and project documentation.
