Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician – Substation P&C Designer to join our team. The role supports design and delivery of critical electrical infrastructure, focusing on protection, control, monitoring, and substation communication systems.

The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) team delivers 2D/3D deliverables with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Electrical, collaborating across engineers and designers on complex substation projects.

Qualifications

Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).
On-site or hybrid work environment with potential flexible schedules and ESOP ownership.

Responsibilities

Functions as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor.
Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline.
Contributes to the development of innovative engineering solutions.
Uses digital tools and design software (CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) with standardized procedures to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
Provides consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality and compliance with project standards.
