Job summary

Quality Technology Services, LLC is seeking a Manager, Substation Engineering to lead the design and technical execution of utility infrastructure for data center campuses. You will manage a team supporting multiple regions, interfacing with energy leaders, utilities, and operations to plan and build substations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or structural engineering, 10+ years in high voltage substation projects, and 2+ years of people leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or structural engineering or engineering technology.
• 10+ years of engineering and execution of high voltage substation projects with construction management.
• 2+ years of people leadership experience.
• Experience working with executives and across organizational levels.
• Knowledge of substation equipment (transformers, breakers, switchgear, relays) from 15kV to 345kV.
• Familiarity with IEEE, NESC, ANSI, NEC standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portion of the team driving design and technical execution of substation and utility projects.
• Develop and mentor substation engineers; handle performance and project assignments.
• Provide guidance for design, installation, and commissioning of high voltage substations.
• Drive strategies to improve project execution via standards, tools, and processes.
• Oversee construction, installation, and commissioning of substation equipment and systems.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
