Job summary

QTS Realty Trust seeks a Senior Substation Engineer to design, develop, and deploy high voltage substations for data center infrastructure. You will lead lifecycle activities from studies to construction and commissioning, coordinating with utilities, contractors, and internal teams to meet aggressive schedules.

The role requires deep HV substation knowledge, 10+ years of experience, and strong leadership in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• FE and/or EIT registration is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in substation engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with IEEE, NESC, ANSI, NEC standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design life cycle of high voltage substations under EPC contracts.
• Provide technical guidance for design and installation of high voltage substations.
• Oversee construction, installation, and commissioning of substation equipment.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Improve program-level execution through operational initiatives.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to substation operations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to meet timelines and budgets.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation for substation projects.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Provide training to junior engineers and field personnel.
