Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is seeking a Manager of Substation Engineering to lead the design and execution of utility infrastructure across multiple data center campuses. You will head a team, provide technical guidance on substations, coordinate with executives, and drive project strategies and compliance.

The role requires a PE license (preferred), 10+ years in HV substation projects, and 2+ years in people leadership. Travel up to 25% is expected in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or structural engineering or engineering technology.
10+ years of engineering and execution of high voltage substation projects, with construction management.
2+ years of people leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Lead a portion of the team driving design and technical execution of substation and utility projects.
Provide technical guidance and oversight for high voltage substations (15kV through 345kV).
Identify risks and develop mitigation plans; collaborate with executives across the organization.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations; travel up to 25%.
