Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Substation Director to lead and grow our substation engineering practice. This senior role requires a PE license and 10-15+ years of substation experience to provide technical leadership, mentor teams, and drive client relationships.

You will oversee design and engineering of substation systems from distribution to high-voltage transmission, develop standards, and support business development with key utility clients.

Qualifications

• PE license required and 10–15+ years of substation engineering experience.
• Strong leadership and project management experience.
• Ability to develop client relationships and lead business development.
• Experience with medium- to high-voltage substations.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the substation engineering practice, managing technical execution and staffing.
• Provide senior technical leadership on projects from distribution to high-voltage substations.
• Oversee design and engineering of substation systems including protection & controls.
• Mentor engineers, designers, and project managers.
• Review deliverables, ensure schedules and budgets align with client expectations.
• Develop engineering standards and QC procedures.
• Support business development and client presentations.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and new business.
