Job summary
Burns & McDonnell in Denver, CO seeks a Senior Substation Engineer to lead the design deliverables for high-voltage substations from concept to completion. You will guide preparation of design packages, perform electrical studies, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure QA/QC compliance while collaborating with clients and project teams. PE license preferred; 25% travel. Salary ranges $170,000–$240,000 with comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited program with 7 years of substation experience.
Or ABET-accredited Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technology degree with FE exam and 7 years of substation experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical/problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
Ability to lead in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
Lead substation projects from conceptual phase through completion.
