Job summary

Exelon seeks a Senior Engineer to lead engineering and design for ComEd substation infrastructure, expanding capacity and modernizing assets to meet load growth and reliability objectives. You will plan and execute transmission and substation projects from design through commissioning, translating forecasts into scalable, safe, and on-schedule solutions.

You'll mentor teammates, provide engineering guidance, perform calculations, and collaborate across functions to ensure standards and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or PE license; knowledge of engineering designs and practices.
• 7+ years of professional engineering experience in large power system infrastructure.
• PE license or advanced degree; MBA or PMP may reduce experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform engineering tasks on complex power system projects from planning to close-out.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor team members; act as expert in specialized areas.
• Develop commissioning plans, prepare documentation, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Perform engineering calculations for battery, AC/DC power systems, and lightning protection.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and planning to ensure standards and scope alignment.
