Beta Engineering is seeking a Substation Engineer to join our team. The Substation Engineer (SE) is responsible for designing, interpreting, applying, and documenting drawings and calculations related to the physical design of a substation. The SE ensures that designs comply with applicable codes and standards, and collaborates with customer representatives, project management, and other engineering disciplines to meet project specifications and requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review conduit, grounding, control shelter, electrical arrangements, outdoor lighting, and equipment vendor design packages.
- Perform and verify grounding calculations.
- Perform and verify conduit fill calculations.
- Perform and verify pulling tension calculations.
- Perform and verify vehicle tracking calculations.
- Perform and verify outdoor lighting calculations.
- Perform and verify lightning protection design calculations.
- Perform and verify Sag-10 calculations for substations.
- Perform and verify flexible jumper calculations.
- Perform and verify bus design calculations.
- Perform and verify arc-flash calculations.
- Perform and verify insulation coordination calculations.
- Perform and verify underground ampacity calculations.
- Create and verify material list descriptions for major equipment and minor substation materials.
