Job summary

B19 Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Substation Engineer with a strong electrical utility background to join a remote, collaborative team. The role focuses on designing substations from 15kV to 500kV and leading significant portions of projects for a diverse client portfolio.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, a PE license (or EIT with licensure path), and proficient MicroStation skills, enabling detailed schematic and BOM development and vendor data

Qualifications

• 5+ years of utility substation design experience (15kV up to 500kV)
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or EIT with path toward licensure
• Proficient in MicroStation (V8 or newer)
• Experience producing detailed designs for new substation layouts, including electrical schematics, BOMs, and equipment specifications
• Ability to interpret vendor data and translate it into accurate design deliverables
• Lead significant portions or full substation design projects

Ideal skillset of the Senior Substation Engineer:

• Minimum of 5+ years of utility substation design experience (15kV up to 500kV)
