Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for substation projects. The role involves leading technical design, protection and control development, yard layout and grounding work, and coordination with clients and vendors.

Travel to client sites may be required, and mentorship to junior staff is expected. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Engineering, 11+ years of relevant experience, and a PE license or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Hybrid/flex options may be offered after 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Function as Technical Specialist or Project Lead on substation projects.
• Develop protection and control design deliverables (relays, diagrams, wiring).
• Develop physical design deliverables (yard layout, grounding, protection).
• Prepare calculations and reports for engineering studies (AC/DC).
• Coordinate design activities with other disciplines and stakeholders.
