O’Connell Electric Company seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical system studies, P&C design, and commissioning for substations and power delivery projects. Travel to customer sites is required, and work occurs in active construction environments with appropriate PPE.

The role emphasizes overseeing testing, field support during commissioning, and mentorship of engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Formación

ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
Professional Engineer licensure required.
Minimum 10 years of progressive electrical power delivery or substation experience.

Responsabilidades

Conduct electrical system studies, including coordination, short-circuit analysis, and arc flash studies.
Analyze power quality data and generate detailed reports with actionable insights.
Design and develop Protection & Control (P&C) schemes.
Support electrical construction design, overseeing layouts, schematics, and specifications.
Review and validate construction drawings for project compliance.
Manage as-built drawing updates and field modifications.
Develop commissioning and testing plans.
Create construction sequencing plans to optimize workflow.
Provide on-site technical support during commissioning, troubleshooting, and testing.
Verify field test results against project specs and quality standards.
Prepare energization and operational plans for safe system activation.
Pursue ongoing training and certifications to stay updated.
