Job summary

You will review specifications, assist in documentation, planning, budgeting, and cost estimation, provide field support, and mentor junior staff. Extended hours and storm-restoration work may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical field from ABET-accredited college.
• Five years of applicable technical experience; Master’s degree counts as one year.
• General knowledge of regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices in the discipline.
• Business knowledge in the utility & regulated environment.
• Proven experience applying sound judgment to decisions.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
• Excellent teamwork and ability to prioritize assignments.

Responsibilities

• Performs assignments in specialized areas requiring technical expertise.
• Reviews functional specifications for completeness and practical limitations.
• Collaborates in activities as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
• May review and assist with technical documentation.
• Work planning, coordination, budgeting, and cost estimating.
• Assist in developing and updating single line diagrams, technical documentation, and equipment specifications for engineering review and approval.
• Supports material procurement.
• Conducts QA/QC, closes gaps, and captures lessons learned.
• Provides technical support to field and construction groups.
• Utilizes and improves technical processes and standards.
• Provides reporting, including presentations to work groups and management.
• Position may require extended hours including major storm restoration work and drills.
• Other duties as assigned.
