Job summary

LUMA Energy in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is seeking a technical professional to execute routine activities and support more complex deliverables within a multi-disciplinary team. The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and quality in utility operations.

The position requires a BS in a technical field (ABET-accredited) with at least two years of applicable experience. Travel up to 30% and overnight stays are expected to support projects.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of regulations, guides, standards, and codes relevant to the discipline.
• Ability to apply sound judgment to engineering decisions.
• Experience interacting with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist and perform assignments requiring technical skills within specialized areas.
• Support projects within scope, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Review functional specifications for completeness and limitations.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary design team.
• Support work planning, budgeting, and cost estimation.
• Update single-line diagrams and design drawings; assist with procurement.
• Support QA/QC processes and field/ construction technical support.
• Contribute to process improvement and standards.
• Assist with reporting and presentations to groups and management.
• Possible extended hours including storm restoration work and drills.
