Job summary

Eversource is seeking a Lead Engineer to oversee the development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the electrical transmission/distribution system. You will coordinate evaluation of failures and provide support to operations during unplanned maintenance to ensure high-quality, safe and reliable service.

The role involves supervising engineers, directing multi-year lifecycle plans, and collaborating across teams to optimize assets and implement improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required; Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
• Minimum of eight years' experience in electrical utility engineering.
• Licenses & Certifications: None.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and develop engineers; approves time and conducts performance reviews.
• Direct work of at least 2 engineers and prioritize tasks.
• Develop Life Cycle Plan activities over multi-year horizon for transmission/distribution.
• Ensure design and specification of additions, modifications and replacements; prepare permits and notices.
• Develop preliminary engineering designs; collaborate within Engineering for consistency.
• Provide technical support during normal and emergency operations.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Develop standards and procedures for design, operation and maintenance.
• Assist with storm duty and major events.
