Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead testing and commissioning of electrical substations and generator plants, including protection relays, breakers, transformers and related equipment.

The ideal candidate will have 6–15+ years of experience, strong leadership, and the ability to mentor technicians, with travel up to 50% and a bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering.

Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of three-phase power systems.
• In-depth understanding of protection and control schemes and implementation.
• In-depth experience with relay test sets from multiple vendors.
• Experience with SCADA/RTU/DFR systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing and commissioning of substation equipment and generators.
• Direct crews during commissioning and startup.
• Develop testing documentation and procedures.
• Mentor engineers/technicians in relay testing and commissioning.
• Coordinate with customers to meet schedule and safety requirements.
