Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering in Addison, TX is seeking a Lead Commissioning Engineer to spearhead testing and commissioning of electrical equipment in substations and generation plants. You will direct DC functional tests, supervise crews through startup, and develop testing documentation while mentoring engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of programming and testing protection relays from major vendors.
• Ability to develop macros for automated relay testing.
• Understand AC and DC diagrams, wiring diagrams and one-line drawings.
• Candidate should obtain NICET certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Direct testing and commissioning of substation equipment and systems.
• Witness or perform critical tests such as DC Functional Trip Testing.
• Lead crews during commissioning and startup.
• Develop and maintain project documentation and testing procedures.
• Provide engineering services to utility substations and generation stations.
