Job summary

Trendsetter Engineering, Inc. seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to design and develop multiplexed electro-hydraulic control systems for subsea applications. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, interface with mechanical designs, and leading controls integration on client vessels.

Houston-based with occasional travel to support field operations. The ideal candidate will manage designs from conception through end-of-life, lead system integration, and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Strong understanding of electronics and interfaces with software/firmware/mechanical systems.
• Experience with NFPA 70, API standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and analyze digital, analog, and power circuits.
• Develop specifications and test requirements for new designs.
• Provide guidance to designers on moderate-complexity tasks.
• Collaborate with mechanical/electrical engineers on detailed design work.
• Drive continuous improvement by evaluating industry tools and techniques.
• Ensure controls system designs meet stakeholder expectations and standards.
• Incorporate client requirements into controls systems.
• Manage asset documentation and master document registers.
• Create, review, and approve schematics, drawings, procedures.
