Job summary

SubCom seeks an experienced Senior Submersibles Manager to provide technical and operational oversight for subsea cable burial programs performed by third-party vessels using plow and ROV systems. You will coordinate with contractor teams, SubCom representatives, and marine groups to maintain high standards and contract compliance.

Ideal candidate has a engineering background, 10+ years in telecom with offshore experience, and proven leadership in offshore burial operations.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical trade.
• 10+ years in telecom with 7+ years offshore experience.
• Strong leadership in offshore cable installation, burial, and trenching.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficient with MS Office and Adobe tools.

Responsibilities

• Act as SubCom's technical authority for third-party installation vessels.
• Review contractor documentation (MOPs, sea trial plans, spare parts lists, engineering analyses).
• Oversee audits of third-party submersible systems to confirm compliance with SubCom standards.
• Oversee plow and ROV burial operations to meet contractual and performance requirements.
• Ensure post-lay and inspection & burial operations achieve specified burial depth and quality criteria.
• Validate readiness of plow systems, ROV spreads, LARS systems, and all supporting subsea tooling.
• Review burial feasibility, equipment performance estimates, and operational limits.
• Ensure correct execution of cable crossing procedures and marine exclusion-zone controls.
• Support BFS reviews, trial sites, deployment strategies, and readiness checks.
• Manage incident reporting and corrective actions to closure for 3rd party vessels.
• Develop lessons learned and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Support planning, scheduling, and third-party labor demand management (LDM).
• Manage SubCom employees and contractor representatives providing oversight on chartered vessels or SubCom equipment.
• Support SubCom vessels and subsea equipment as necessary.
