Job summary

SubCom is seeking a Director of Network Element Electrical Design to lead a team of engineers in designing high-reliability undersea and terminal equipment. The role entails conceiving electrical architectures, coordinating with R&D and manufacturing, and ensuring project timelines are met for world-leading subsea networks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, extensive leadership experience, and deep knowledge of fiber optic components and PCBA design.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years as lead electrical design engineer.
• 5+ years as a functional manager leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and prototyping activities from concept to delivery.
• Direct PCBA design with internal/external teams.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across electrical, optical, mechanical, and firmware.
