AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a highly experienced engineer with a deep background in submarine ship control systems and hydrodynamics to support research, development, testing, and evaluation activities. The role requires interpreting complex data, designing layouts, and producing documentation for NAVSEA programs.

You will analyze simulation and experimental results using Python, Java, and LabVIEW, interact with NAVSEA offices, and ensure compliance with safety and program SOPs.

Qualificações

• High School diploma and 20+ years of experience in submarine Ship Control Systems.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Extensive knowledge of research and development practices as they relate to submarines, hydrodynamics, and maneuvering.
• Ability to analyze simulation and experimental data using Python, Java, LabVIEW or similar analysis tools software.
• Ability to evaluate control system performance using simulation approaches.
• Ability to interact with NAVSEA Hydrodynamics and Ship Control Technical Warrants and Program Offices in support of identifying solutions to complex hydrodynamic and ship control problems.
• Extensive knowledge of Submarine Ship Control System Program and technical and safety requirements relative to test and evaluation.
• Expert level knowledge of the Maneuvering and Control SCS Program SOPs and Plans.

Responsabilidades

• Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the testing, analysis and evaluation of materials and processes.
• Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems; selects from several possible design layouts; calculates design data; and prepares layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc.
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
• Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
• Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
• Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports.
• Assembles electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Sets up and operates test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and records results.
