Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Senior Additive Manufacturing (AM) Engineer to support the Virginia Class Submarine Program (PMS 450) in the Washington, DC area. The role focuses on design, development, and testing of additive processes, machines, software, and part designs.

The ideal candidate holds an active DoW Secret clearance, a mechanical engineering degree, and at least 10 years in propulsion design or metallic additive technologies, with strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or other engineering disciplines.
• 10+ years of experience in propulsion component design or metallic additive technologies.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills; able to interact with program officials and influence milestones.
• Experience briefing senior leaders.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to work in a team or independently under tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop Acquisition Management solutions on mid-level initiatives and support clients with technical expertise.
• Provide AM engineering consulting support and participate in technical reviews.
• Review and evaluate production design data; test and evaluate AM engineering changes; analyze productionability of processes and systems.
• Provide recommendations for coordination and risk mitigation strategies.
• Advise on migration, program schedule, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Lead and direct the work of others.
• Produce optimized build files for high-quality parts with maximum consistency.
• Collaborate with Materials Engineers to refine print parameters and design allowables.
