Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer to support the PMS 450 Virginia Class Submarine Program in the Washington, DC area.

You will lead design, development, and testing of additive manufacturing processes for metal parts, using powder-bed and powder-fed approaches, and collaborate with Materials Engineers to optimize print parameters and part performance. The role requires an active DoW Secret clearance, a mechanical engineering degree (10+ years in propulsion/additive),

Qualifications

  • Must possess an active DoW Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in propulsion component design or metallic additive technologies.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills; ability to brief senior leaders.
  • Experience briefing senior leaders and engaging program officials.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work in team and independently with tight deadlines.
  • Up to 10% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct additive process design, development, and testing.
  • Provide AM engineering consulting and participate in technical reviews.
  • Evaluate production design data, test AM changes, and analyze production feasibility.
  • Recommend strategies for migration, schedules, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Communicate results and improvements to responsible engineers to mature processes.
  • Produce reports, procedures, and manuals documenting development efforts.
