Job summary

University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK, seeks a Senior Athletics Academic Advisor to manage academic support for student-athletes and ensure NCAA eligibility and progress toward graduation. The role includes training staff, coordinating outreach with campus advising, and leading advisor meetings.

The position requires collaboration with coaches and faculty, strong understanding of NCAA guidelines, and the ability to communicate program progress to the Director and campus partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 36 months of experience as a full-time Academic Advisor in higher education.
• Master's degree preferred or in progress.
• Experience advising student-athletes in Division I preferred.
• Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary contact for academic performance and awards data.
• Coordinate communication with Athletics Communications and Academic staff on awards and scholarships.
• Train new advising staff on NCAA academic eligibility and related legislation.
• Coordinate academic orientation and educational programming for incoming student-athletes.
• Provide academic advisement and personal counseling to student-athletes on assigned teams.
• Monitor academic progress and coordinate support, offering career guidance.
