Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a seasoned structural construction superintendent to lead daily activities on major infrastructure projects. You will manage self-perform crews and subcontractors, coordinate concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel, and crane operations to keep production on schedule.

Applicants should bring 7+ years of heavy civil experience, strong leadership, and the ability to read plans and manage safety and quality. Travel to project locations may be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of structural/heavy civil construction experience with field leadership
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, submittals, and shop drawings
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• OSHA safety knowledge; OSHA 30 certification preferred or required based on project needs

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily structural construction activities, including self-perform crews and subcontractors
• Plan and coordinate concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel, foundations, structural steel, precast, bridge, and related operations
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and deliveries to maintain production and schedule
• Develop and execute short-term and look-ahead work plans
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, submittals, and contract requirements
• Oversee concrete operations, formwork, reinforcing steel placement, embeds, pour planning, concrete placement, finishing, and curing
• Coordinate crane operations, rigging, material staging, and equipment requirements
• Monitor daily production, quantities, labor productivity, and cost performance
• Identify and resolve schedule, constructability, manpower, or production issues
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Engineers, other Superintendents, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients
• Maintain accurate daily reports documenting manpower, equipment, quantities, progress, delays, and significant project activities
