Felsburg Holt & Ullevig is seeking a senior-level structures engineer for the Great Plains region. The role offers leadership opportunities and targets entrepreneurial individuals to guide transportation design projects across the Midwest, including roadway and rail structures.

The selected candidate will serve as Project Manager on upcoming pursuits, lead complex structural design efforts, and coordinate with clients, staff, and external partners while ensuring quality and timely delivery of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/transportation engineering with emphasis on bridge and structural design.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 10–15 years' experience as a bridge/structural design engineer.
• Advanced experience using structural analysis and design software.
• Experience with AASHTO standards; bridges in Nebraska, Iowa, SD a plus.

Responsibilities

• Works on bridge and structural design projects, ranging from small drainage structures to large multi-span bridges.
• Serves as senior project engineer and client contact; participates in interviews, meetings and presentations.
• Supports construction by reviewing submittals, answering RFIs, and field visits to ensure contract compliance.
• Prepares budgets, estimating, scoping, marketing strategies and forecast workload for internal staff.
• Leads structural design efforts for complex transportation projects including proposals, reports, specifications, plans and designs.
• Responsible for project team quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.
• Uses computer software to review and prepare engineering and design documents.
