Job summary

Vigor Marine Group seeks a Structural Project Engineer to support aluminum and steel vessel construction. You will design structures, perform analyses, and develop detailed drawings for fabrication, working with production and planning to ensure safe, cost-effective solutions that meet project specs.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, five years marine experience, and familiarity with ABS/NAVSEA rules.

Qualifications

  • BS in an engineering discipline or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering preferred.
  • Familiarity with ABS standards.
  • Five years of marine experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design vessel structures meeting vessel specifications and create models, drawings, and BOMs.
  • Loft and nest all vessel parts for CNC cutting.
  • Perform structural analysis and design for marine fabrication and shipyard projects.
  • Develop and review structural drawings, calculations, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with planners, weld engineers, and production leads for executable designs.
  • Ensure compliance with ABS, USCG, NAVSEA, AISC, and related standards.
