Lam Research in Tualatin, OR is seeking a Structural/Thermal Modeling Engineer III for on-site work in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The role emphasizes physics-based modeling for thermo-elastic and CFD components, with data-driven AI/ML integration and multi-scale simulations.

As part of the Global Products Group, you will collaborate across mechanical, electrical, process and software teams to translate data into improved designs, and to advance our semiconductor equipment solutions.

Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering with strong emphasis in solid mechanics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
• Strong ability and understanding of AI/ML concepts and hybrid physics-based AI/ML modeling.
• Coding ability to supplement commercial software for specific applications.
• Ability to work within a team to own and design concepts and drive decisions.
• Graduate eligibility and readiness for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop physics-based models for Thermo-Elastic, Structural and CFD applications for components in semiconductor capital equipment.
• Data-driven modeling; combine physics-based approaches with AI/ML methods.
• Develop methods translating tool data into improved engineering designs.
• Uncertainty quantification, statistical inference for model calibration and decision making under uncertainty.
• Maintain live multi-physics models across nano to macro scales.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, process and software engineers to define design requirements and plans.
