L3Harris is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Structural Engineer (Stress Engineer) to join the Aeronautical Systems Engineering team in Texas. The role involves performing static strength analyses on aircraft structures, leading a small team, and managing budgets and schedules for assigned tasks.

You will develop margins of safety, create FEA models, and ensure airworthiness compliance with FAA/military standards. Travel to flight lines and hangars is expected (approx. 5%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with six (6) years of commercial fixed-wing fuselage structural analysis experience.
• Graduate degree with four (4) years of commercial fixed-wing fuselage structural analysis experience.
• In Lieu of a degree, minimum of ten (10) years of commercial fixed-wing fuselage structural analysis experience.

Responsabilités

• Perform classical hand analysis and create finite element models to predict internal loads, displacements, and stresses.
• Lead a small team of stress engineers, mentoring on technical problems and managing budget and schedule.
• Support development of engineering estimates for bids and input for monthly labor forecasts.
