Job summary

Atlantic Constructors offers an exciting Structural Engineer role focused on mechanical structures and supports for industrial and commercial projects. You will work with project leaders and design teams to develop designs, provide guidance, and participate in discussions with stakeholders.

Site visits may be required to collect design data and verify builds. The role involves leading structural design tasks, stamping drawings and calculations, and coordinating with architects and other

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferably structural or civil focused.
• Active PE license in Virginia (Structural focused preferred), or SE licensed preferred.
• 5+ years of structural industrial experience including crane design, foundations, or related.
• Work in house at Richmond VA headquarters.
• Proficient with structural design software STRUDL or equivalents.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, ACI, AISC and related codes.
• Intermediate knowledge of Revit and/or Tekla.
• MS Office suite including Bluebeam Revu.
• Comfortable with 3D environments using Navisworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to multi-task and pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural guidance during estimating toward project proposals.
• Review project scopes for code/compliance.
• Perform structural analysis and designs for mechanical platforms, supports, and racks for large projects.
• Prepare, review, and stamp structural drawings, calculations, and specs.
• Collaborate with architects, PMs and other disciplines for integrated solutions.
• Lead and support the structural department.
• Oversee creation of structural models in Revit/Tekla to coordinate disciplines.
• Conduct shop/field investigations for site conditions.
