Job summary

Accenture in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced structural engineer to review and approve proposed structural plans for educational facilities and related projects. You will ensure compliance with district standards, coordinate with design teams, and contribute to guidelines and specifications to improve safety and efficiency.

The role requires a CA PE license and a minimum of ten years of relevant full-time experience, with opportunities to work onsite at client locations and collaborate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
• Ten (10) years of full-time paid professional experience in structural engineering planning, design, and construction of educational facilities.
• Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for up to 2 years of the educational requirement, on a year-for-year basis.
• A valid CA Professional Engineer license by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical review of proposed structural plans and specifications submitted by District personnel, consultant staff, or commissioned architects and engineers for construction projects.
• Provide review comments regarding adherence to District standards, quality of development and documentation of structural design, coordination with other disciplines, and other technical issues as required.
• Provide comments, lessons learned and research to support the development and maintenance of the District’s Design Guidelines including the School Design Guide, Educational Specifications, Guide Technical Specifications, and Standard Technical Drawings for the Facilities Services Division.
• Provide comments and lessons learned to update and maintain District policies and guides for the design of educational facilities and/or District construction electrical specifications to assure conformance to building codes and safety requirements and to improve the quality and economy of construction, maintenance, and operation.
• Coordinate activities with those of other units of Design and A/E Technical Support and other District organizations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.
