Job summary

LAUSD seeks a QA/QC Technical Reviewer - Structural to act as the district's structural expert within Asset Management/Standards. You will review designs from architects and engineers, guide project teams on technical questions, and shape design standards for future school projects.

This senior advisory role requires a California-licensed structural engineer with 10+ years in educational facilities; SE license preferred. Expect a public-sector environment with lasting impact through 2028.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building codes and industry standards applied to K-12 school construction.
• Experience preparing structural standards and contract documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication for technical reviews.

Responsibilities

• Review structural plans and specifications for District projects.
• Provide comments on compliance with District standards and design quality.
• Perform QA/QC, constructability, and peer reviews during design and construction.
• Advise District staff and A/E teams on substitutions and deviations.
• Contribute to District design guidelines and standard drawings.
• Help update design policies to meet code and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with Design and A/E Technical Support units.
