Job summary

MAAS Companies, Inc. seeks a QA/QC Technical Reviewer, Structural, to perform technical reviews of structural plans for District construction projects and provide written comments on adherence to standards, quality of design, and coordination with disciplines.

Requirements include a valid California PE license, 10 years of full-time structural engineering experience in educational facilities, and a bachelor's degree in structural engineering or related field.

Qualifications

• 10 years of full-time structural engineering experience in educational facilities.
• Experience preparing structural and architectural specifications and contract documents.
• Working knowledge of California Building Code, CalGreen, OSHA, ASHRAE, ASTM for school construction.
• Strong technical writing and ability to provide clear, actionable review comments.

Responsibilities

• Technical review of structural plans and specifications for District construction projects
• Written review comments on District standards, structural design quality, documentation, and coordination with other disciplines
• Structural content of the School Design Guide, Educational Specifications, Guide Technical Specifications, and Standard Technical Drawings
• Recommended updates to District structural policy and specifications for code, safety, cost, and maintenance
• Structural guidance on product substitutions, departures from standards, and technical questions from the field
• Quality assurance and quality control, constructability, and peer reviews on projects in design and construction
