Job summary

Pacifica Services seeks a senior structural reviewer to assess proposed structural plans for educational facilities and ensure District standards are met. You will provide technical comments, coordinate with A/E teams, and support development of design guidelines.

Responsibilities include quality assurance, reviews of specifications in line with CBC/Cal Green and safety requirements, and effective communication with District personnel, consultants, and inspectors. A CA PE license is required.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years full time paid professional experience in structural engineering planning, design and construction of educational facilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field; substitutions allowed for up to 2 years.
• CA Professional Engineer license; CA Structural Engineer license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical review of proposed structural plans and specifications for construction projects.
• Provides review comments on adherence to District standards, quality of development, and coordination with other disciplines.
• Supports development of District Design Guidelines, School Design Guide, and Standard Technical Drawings.
• Updates district policies and guides for design of educational facilities to ensure codes and safety requirements.
• Coordinates activities with other units of Design and A/E Technical Support and District organizations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
