Job summary

United Steel Inc is seeking an experienced Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate designated projects in the Northeast region. The role emphasizes protecting the company’s long-term interests while achieving customer satisfaction, with frequent site visits and cross-functional coordination with sales, estimating, and vendors.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in project management, preferably in steel fabrication/erection.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is a plus.
• Self-starter who can work well in teams and independently.
• Pro-active attitude with urgency to address bid and project demands while balancing company interests.
• Strong detail orientation; ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
• Good oral and written communication skills; basic math and technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project activities to ensure goals are met within time and budget.
• Maintain relationships with clients, project managers, superintendents, architects and vendors.
• Transfer project knowledge to team, manage change orders, RFI’s and submittals.
• Develop and maintain project schedules with milestones and critical path.
• Review invoices, billing, and ensure timely payments from customers.
• Travel to project sites for weekly/bi-weekly meetings and site verification.
