Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with 10 to 20 years of building design experience to support the planning, design, management, and delivery of structural engineering projects.

You will lead and mentor staff, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines across multiple offices. A BS in Civil Engineering is required; an MS is a plus, and a PE license with NC/SC licensure target within 6 months.

Qualifications

• 10–20 years of structural engineering experience focused on building design.
• Licensed Professional Engineer with the ability to obtain licensure in North Carolina and South Carolina within 6 months.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, structural design standards, and construction practices.
• Experience with concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and foundation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the planning, structural design, and construction administration of building projects.
• Prepare and review structural drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and cost estimates.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and coordination with clients, architects, contractors, and other disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior structural staff.
• Support proposals and business development activities with leaders.
• Participate in client meetings, site visits, and occasional travel to project sites and other offices.
